For years, the old pensioners’ hut in Lowton stood forgotten. Once a place where people gathered and shared life, it slowly crumbled—becoming a magnet for antisocial behaviour, vandalism, and decay.
When it finally collapsed under snow and ice, we stepped in—not just to clear the ruins, but to imagine what could take its place. That moment sparked the Slice of Hope.
Slice of Hope is a local, community-led project to turn a space once defined by decline into a place full of purpose, pride and possibility. We're rebuilding it into a vibrant hub: part youth club, part social enterprise, and home to Dojo Pizza—a small pizzeria with a powerful goal.
We're not just making pizza. We’re creating real opportunities for young people who’ve been left out of education or work—giving them training, qualifications, and a reason to believe in themselves.
We're reviving the youth club that once meant so much to this town. And we’re building a place for the community to reconnect—across tables, across generations, and across the stories we share.
