GB Sport jujitsu
Developing elite competitors and supporting the pathway to major international competition
Sport Jujitsu is a competitive martial art that combines controlled striking, throws, and groundwork into a structured, rules-based sport. Matches test timing, balance, technique, and decision-making rather than strength alone. Athletes score points for clean, well-executed actions across standing, takedown, and ground phases, making it fast-paced, technical, and engaging to watch.
It is practised worldwide and continues to grow as an organised international sport with clear competition pathways and ongoing efforts toward greater international recognition and future Olympic inclusion.
developing the next generation
a pathway to elite sport
The Great Britain Sport Jujitsu squad brings together selected athletes training for national and international competition. Lowton Community Hub is proud to be the home of the Great Britain Cadet squads, supporting young athletes as part of the national development pathway. The squad system gives athletes the opportunity to represent their region and country, compete internationally, and progress toward major events.
Monthly squad training focuses on competition skills, physical preparation, and mental resilience. Sessions are structured, purposeful, and delivered in a professional environment that supports long-term athlete development.

The sport’s competitive nature is balanced with a commitment to safe, structured training and the development of life skills that benefit athletes on and off the mat.
Hosting the GB Cadet squads reflects the hub’s role in supporting high-quality sport while remaining grounded in community values, opportunity, and shared purpose.
